Kargit counts its visits without cookies and without tracking you from one day to the next. In these statistics, we keep neither your IP address nor the details of your browser: a random fingerprint, valid for a single day and impossible to link to you or to the following days, is used solely to count visits. We record general information: device type, browser, operating system, language, referring site, pages viewed, time spent and a few actions (running a calculation, opening a charging station...). This data is used to improve the site and is not passed on to anyone; visit details are deleted after 13 months, and only daily statistics are kept.

You can object to this at any time: Disable audience measurement. If your browser sends ‘Do Not Track’ or Global Privacy Control, we respect it.

Data sources

  • Charging stations: French national database of charging infrastructure (Base nationale des infrastructures de recharge, data.gouv.fr), under the Licence Ouverte (Open Licence).
  • Maps, addresses, amenities and routes: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL licence), IGN Géoplateforme.
  • Prices: collected from charging operators and their public offers.
  • Country location from the IP address: IP Geolocation by DB-IP.

Nature of the information

The costs, durations and battery levels displayed are estimates calculated from public data and from assumptions described in the app: operators' prices, tolls and traffic conditions may differ from reality. Check prices on site before committing.

Kargit does not promote commercial offers: it calculates, for each of your trips, the charging plan that minimises a given criterion, then presents the result for each criterion.

  • Cheapest: minimises the total cost = charging at the best price applicable at each station (operator, payment method, subscription or card, time of day, power) + the monthly fee for a subscription or card if one is needed (counted only once, free if you already have it) + tolls according to your choice. Any cashback from loyalty programmes is not included in the default ranking, as it is never guaranteed; the advanced option ‘Take cashback into account’ lets you count 50% of it when comparing prices. The amounts displayed are always without cashback, which is shown separately. Time is taken into account at €0.12 per minute (€7.20 per hour).
  • Fastest: minimises the total duration, regardless of cost.
  • Cheapest without subscription and cheapest with / without tolls: same calculation as ‘cheapest’, without any subscription or card, or on the route with (or without) tolls.

A subscription or card is only suggested if it lowers the total, fees included. Results depend on your settings (vehicle, battery, weather, subscriptions you already have, excluded operators).

Remuneration. Kargit may receive a commission when you take out a subscription or card via a ‘Subscribe’ button. This remuneration has no influence on the calculation: no operator or provider can pay to improve its position or change the prices displayed, and a subscription is only suggested if it lowers your total.

The Kargit brand, logo, design and code are the property of their publisher. Any reproduction without permission is prohibited, except for the open data cited above, which remains subject to its respective licences.
